SEASIA Chair Professor Hsin-Huang Michael Hsiao presided over the SEASIA roundtable discussion of the 2024 Annual Conference of Southeast Asian Studies in Taiwan, which was held on November 7-8, 2024 in Academia Sinica, Taiwan. The theme of the conference this year was “Perspectives and Methodologies of Area Studies: Reviews and Prospects of Taiwan’s Southeast Asian Studies.”
The SEASIA roundtable, held on November 7, featured presentations on the state and future directions of Southeast Asian studies by SEASIA Governing Board members Professors Antoinette Raquiza (University of the Philippines-Diliman) and Alan Hao Yang (National Chengchi University), SEASIA Secretary Prof. Mieno Fumiharu (Kyoto University), and SEASIA member representative Dr. Norshahril Saat (ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute).
