Vacancy: The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore offers a stimulating and multidisciplinary education and research in the humanities and social sciences, and is home to nine major disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (Chinese, English Literature, Economics, Linguistics and Multilingual Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Public Policy and Global Affairs).

To further strengthen teaching and research capacities, the School is recruiting a number of new faculty members in the following areas, to start in August 2015 or earlier.


Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy
The Division is of Philosophy invites qualified academics to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Area of specialisation is open, but we especially welcome applicants in philosophy of science or technology.

Lecturer in Economics
Candidates should have completed or nearly completed a PhD. in Economics, and should have evidence of potential for high quality research. Candidates with relevant post-doctoral training are also welcome to apply. All fields will be considered but preference will be given to Financial Economics/Financial Econometrics, International Finance, Urban and Transport Economics, Health Economics, and Macroeconomics.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in (1) Cognitive/Biological Psychology (2) Applied Psychology

(1) Candidates should possess a PhD in Biological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field.

(2) Candidates should possess a PhD in Psychology or Criminology with a focus in applied research preferably in one or more of the following areas: Antisocial and Aggressive Behaviors, Cybercrime, Delinquency, Forensic psychology, Neurocriminology, Risk assessment, or Correctional rehabilitation.

The Division is especially interested in candidates with expertise in political science, including public policy, public administration, comparative politics, international relations and political theory. Priority will be given to Public Policy and Public Administration. Outstanding senior candidates may be appointed at the Associate Professor level.
